Director Lovullo and ARI to enter WS for two more years until 2026

Torrey Lovullo, 58, who led the Arizona Diamondbacks to the World Series after losing 110 games two years ago and posting a .457 winning percentage last year, has signed a contract extension.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported on Sunday that Robullo will lead Arizona through the 2026 season.

This is a two-year extension. Robullo previously signed a one-year extension with Arizona in June that guaranteed him through the 2024 season.굿모닝토토 도메인

The two extensions in the same year were likely in recognition of the team’s run to the World Series. Arizona is back in the World Series after a 22-year absence.

Arizona started the postseason as the No. 6 seed in the National League, but defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies to claim the top spot in the National League.

Arizona was especially dominant in the National League Division Series (NLDS), going three games to none against the perennial underdog Los Angeles Dodgers.

Although they fell short in the World Series, going 1-4, it was their best finish since 2001. That’s likely why Robullo earned a two-year contract extension.

Robullo has led Arizona since 2017. This is his seventh season. This makes him the longest tenured head coach in Arizona’s history.

If he fulfills the terms of his contract, he will have been at the helm of Arizona for 10 years. It will be interesting to see if Robullo can do any better.
