By Lee Jae-sang = Vietnamese international striker Van Thoan is leaving the K League 2 Seoul Eland to return to his home country.
Seoul Eland announced on Friday that Bantoan has agreed to a transfer to Vietnam’s Nam Dinh FC and has completed his stay with the club.
After making his professional debut in 2015, Bantoan spent eight years with Vietnam’s Hoang An Jalai FC. He moved between the U-23 and A squads under Park Hang-seo, winning the 2018 Suzuki Cup and 2019 King’s Cup.
This season, he joined Seoul Eland, where he has played nine games and has been a consistent performer, with a high volume of activity, aggressive pressing, and dribbling that utilizes his speed.
Since his arrival, Mokdong Stadium has seen an increase in visits from Vietnamese fans living in South Korea, with the club organizing a “Vietnam Day” for the 13th round match against Cheonan. Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Nguyen Vu Fat and more than 1,000 Vietnamese fans came to the stadium to cheer on Seoul Eland and Bantuan.
According to the club, interest in Bantuan, who recently played for the national team, has grown, and several Vietnamese clubs have expressed interest in signing him.
In response, the club held negotiations with Nam Dinh FC, which had been making repeated offers, and finalized the transfer.
“I was worried about my first transfer and going abroad, but I’m grateful that the club, my teammates, and all the members took care of me like a family,” said Van Toan. “I’m sorry to say goodbye, but I needed to make a big decision as a player.”스포츠토토
He continued, “I will never forget the Seoul Land fans who cheered me on with chants of ‘kolen (fighting)’ and ‘bantoan’. I will always remember Korea and Seoul Eland.”
