Pair out, Lee Min-ah back…Hangzhou AG women’s soccer roster finalized

Sohyun Cho, Keummin Lee, Youngju Lee, and others are also missing.

Reporter Seol Ha-eun = Casey Eugene Fair (PDA), who became the youngest player ever to play in a FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, has been dropped and Lee Min-ah (Hyundai Steel) has returned to the final roster of the Korean women’s national soccer team for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in September.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) today announced its final roster for the Asian Games for the women’s national soccer team, led by head coach Colleen Bell.

Unlike men’s soccer, which has an age limit of 24 and a wild card, women’s soccer does not have an age limit and Bell’s A team will compete in the tournament.

Of the 23 players who competed at the World Cup, five return and four are new.

Not included is Fair, who was born in 2007 to an American father and Korean mother.

Jo So-hyun, a key midfielder who is looking for a new club after his contract with Tottenham expired, Lee Keum-min (Brighton) and Lee Young-joo (CFF Madrid), who are playing overseas, and goalkeeper Yoon Young-gul, who announced his retirement, were also left off the roster.

Lee Min-ah (Hyundai Steel), Lee Eun-young (Korea University), Moon Eun-joo (Hwacheon KSPO) and Choi Ye-seul (Changnyeong WFC) took their places.

Lee Min-ah, who was named to the national team in 2012 and played at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, returned to Belho after an eight-month absence due to injury.

Lee Eun-young, Moon Eun-joo, and Choi Ye-seul, who participated in the final training camp for the World Cup in June but did not make the final roster, will make their Asian Games debuts.온라인바카

Bell will convene the squad at the National Training Center (NFC) in Paju on March 5, where they will train for about two weeks before departing for China on March 19.

South Korea will open its Group E campaign against Myanmar on Feb. 22, before facing the Philippines on Feb. 25 and Hong Kong on Feb. 28.

Eight teams will advance to the tournament, including the top five teams from each group and the top three teams from each group.

The women’s team has won three consecutive bronze medals from the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games to the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.

Meanwhile, Australian coach Matt Ross, who has assisted Bell since 2019, has been relieved of his duties after the World Cup.
