‘Son missing’ Tottenham lose 2-4 to Barcelona in final preseason game

By Daehyun Moon = English Premier League (EPL) club Tottenham Hotspur suffered an upset loss to FC Barcelona (Spain) in its final preseason match before the start of the 2023-24 season.

Tottenham fell 2-4 in the Gamper Trophy match against Barcelona at the Estadi Olympic Luis Complex in Barcelona, Spain, on Monday (Sept. 9).

The Gampère Trophy is an annual match between Barcelona and a world-class club in honor of the club’s founder, Joan Gampère.

Tottenham were without most of their key players on the day, including Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, and James Maddison. Up front, they had Ivan Perisic, Giovanni Rosselso, and Manor Solomon in the second line, with Thierry Henry at the top of the lineup.

Barcelona opened the scoring just three minutes after kickoff through Robert Lewandowski.

Tottenham then equalized in the 24th minute through Oliver Skipp, before Skipp pulled one back in the 37th minute.

With a comfortable 2-1 lead at the break, Tottenham held on to the lead until midway through the second half, when they conceded back-to-back goals in the dying minutes.카지노

Ferran Torres equalized in the 36th minute, followed by Ansu Pati in the 45th minute.

In the 47th minute, Abde Ezzaljuli scored a late consolation goal to make it 2-4.

With preseason play now complete, Tottenham will open the 2023-24 EPL season against Brentford on Sept. 13.
